An Indiana woman was arrested for allegedly hitting a pregnant woman with a baseball bat while calling her multiple slurs and insults, CBS 4 reports.

49-year-old Angela Canaday was charged with one count of battery resulting in bodily injury to a pregnant woman and one count of intimidation in connection to the August 20 attack.

According to court documents, Canaday called 911 to report that she hit a woman with a bat. When the New Castle Police Department responded to the report, officers interviewed the victim, who said she encountered Canaday while outside her home looking after her friend's child.

The victim told police Canaday came outside and started yelling at her and hurling racial slurs. The woman allegedly urged Canaday to stop using such language because there were a lot of children outside.

At that point, Canaday grabbed a black wooden baseball bat from inside her home and launched an attack against the woman, according to court documents.

“[Canaday] said ‘go on you n—– lovin’ f—— b——,’” court documents state. “[Canaday] lunged towards [the woman] in an aggressive manner with the bat raised in her right hand, swinging it at [the woman] while [she] was holding her baby.”

After hitting the woman, Canaday allegedly told the woman that she would “kill” her and called her a “f—— b——” again.

Canady was booked into the Henry County Jail last week.
