Rep. Jasmine Crockett slammed Republicans for "selling out their constituents for billionaires" amid the House vote on Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill."

On Tuesday (July 1), the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a GOP-backed mega-bill on tax and spending, passed in the Senate 50-50 with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote. The measure headed back to the House for approval of changes made in the Senate.

Trump's sprawling domestic policy bill proposes major cuts to food assistance and Medicaid to offset the costs for tax cuts and other GOP priorities, including border security and deportation. Crockett blasted House Republicans for prioritizing billionaire tax cuts over families in need of SNAP and Medicaid.

"I'm here fighting for my district because Republicans are willing to sell out working and struggling folks in my district, and frankly, their's too to appease billionaires and big corporations," the House Democrat said.

Crockett pointed out how the 83 billionaires in this country are being overrepresented by lawmakers.

"We have 435 members in the House, and we have 100 members in the Senate. Yet somehow, 83 people in this country have more representation than the hundreds of thousands that are about to lose their healthcare as well as their SNAP benefits," the Texas lawmaker said.

Crockett urged lawmakers to adopt her amendment requiring the federal minimum wage to be increased to $15 for corporate tax breaks to go into effect.
